It has a village feel where we can get almost everything we need within walking distance.
Seattle has so much greenspace to explore and enjoy, like the Arboretum, Seward Park, and Kubota Gardens.
Seattle has a lot of “hidden” stairways and walkways that give you public access to some of the best views and access to the water.
Downtown Seattle is built on top of old downtown and the Underground Tour is well worth taking!
Our local farmers’ market and the Little Free Libraries around our neighborhood.
The ability to use it with the lid open for carrying larger items.
The lights for when we walk at night.
Most people simply ask what it is then comment on how useful it would be for them or that they think it looks cool. I usually respond by telling them it’s my cargo robot, and I often get a lot of questions about how much it can carry and how fast/far it can go.
I’ve really extended the radius of where I walk to, for example going to the hardware store with my gita instead of always driving my car. It has also made me more aware of how much or how little of different neighborhoods are accessible to our neighbors with more limited mobility.
As the city invests in more high-density housing and expansion of the light rail, the gita lifestyle could allow people to live and work within the city limits without a car, easing both traffic and air pollution.
Empire Roasters & Records: The best matcha lattes in the city and a great selection of vinyl records. Pre-pandemic they had a waffle bar which we hope will open again sometime soon!
Bob’s Quality Meats: Our local butcher, who sells their own smoked bacon and regularly has lamb available.
Andaluz: The small gift shop which always has something for everyone!
