Shop locally - hands-free and on foot

At Piaggio Fast Forward, we’re big believers in shopping locally and giving back to the community. With gitamini, the following, cargo-carrying robot, shopping locally is easier than ever. Bring gitamini along with you next time you head into town to do some shopping and eliminate the need to drive. gitamini is able to carry up to 20 pounds and can follow you for up to 21 miles on a single charge, making it easy to make better choices for you, your community and the environment.

Here’s a list of some of our favorite local shops in a few cities around the US:

Boston

  • For Now – Founded by two co-workers who are forever obsessed with supporting up-and-coming entrepreneurs, they started For Now because they believe the next great brands deserve to be discovered. The products they source are ones that they genuinely shop — and invest in. Through their incubator program, they help emerging entrepreneurs with their business from marketing to funding. The brands they stand behind inspire them.

  • Follain – Passionate about clean ingredients in beauty, skincare and haircare products, Follain has their own line of products and also sells other brands that have an emphasis on clean ingredients. Follain is taking a stand against toxins in personal care, refusing to settle for anything but the safest, most effective products. They are shifting the mindsets — and building a community of activists who want a better kind of beauty.

  • Niche - Niche works to source high-quality, unique and practical plants. They work with the best growers in Florida, some right here in New England, and many others to bring plants that inspire their customers and meet the practical needs of city living. They receive fresh plant shipments every other week, and inventory changes constantly.

Austin

  • Slow North – A boutique specializing in clean products with safe ingredients. They make their own plant based candles and carry other products that are better for you and the environment.

  • BookPeople – Texas’ largest independent bookstore since 1970. Known for well-read booksellers that can recommend books for readers of any age, BookPeople has two stories full of books, locally curated gifts and a coffee shop to round out the perfect indie bookstore experience.

  • Take Heart – Boutique located in East Austin which reflects the owner’s love of special and thoughtfully designed objects for the home and person. The shop showcases local and US artists, as well as a selection of international designers, with an emphasis on Japanese design. They believe in the importance of supporting small businesses and artists and value the energy and craftsmanship put into the items they carry in the shop and their relationship with the makers/designers.
